After leaving Kangaroo Island we headed north to Adelaide, where we were to spend two nights allowing us one full day to visit the city.

The botanic gardens in Adelaide are a must see: combining plants and architecture in a very inventive way.

The gardens are situated at the north of the city near the Torrens River.

Interesting, and quite tame, birds populate the gardens: ever seen a punk-pigeon?

There is also some interesting street art.

Adelaide is a very nice city, and in spite of the few photos here, has a lot to offer. However Julie and I are not really city people, so the following day we made our way to the railway station to board the Indian-Pacific train to Perth.
