Skiing Belle Plagne 2008
Severe storms in Europe
resulted in a 6-hours delay of our outward flight. Little did we know, at the
time of this photo, that we would not see our accommodation until 4am the
following day!

With 4 hours sleep we were
on the piste at 9am. Skiing
directly to and from the door of our apartment in Belle Plagne.
Our first two days were very
warm: +14degC. And by contrast the coldest day dropped to –14degC!
Most of the area had good
snow, but the warm weather was taking its toll…
The high parts of the resort
afforded magnificent views of the Alps: this is Mt Blanc…
We were self-catering, and
Ashley is always well balanced when doing the shopping: semi-skimmed and
cabinet sauvignon…
We dinned out in the
evenings, and on this occasion I could not resist the third dessert on this
menu…
And Ashley was very happy
with his Germconerdle (I don’t know how its spelt!).

It was all just too much
for George… |
Finishing with Ashley’s
panorama (most of the photos on this page are his).
The temperatures were
sometimes too high and other times too low. The snow conditions were largely
OK, but could have done with some fresh stuff in places. As ever the holiday
was much enjoyed and all too short.
