Cycling Cuba

In late March 2007 we cycled over 450 miles around Cuba on a holiday organised by Exodus. The only problem that marred the trip was the wind: we cycled into a headwind almost every day due to the mainly west to east direction of the route. The average direction of wind in Cuba is from the east, and wind speed can be quite high, even outside of the hurricane season! Should you intend to go cycling in Cuba, then do so east to west. Also, if meat is not part of your diet, Cuba has little understanding of vegetarianism, as a couple of group discovered..
