And it&#8217;s still so windy that it&#8217;s no fun to sit in the garden.  High summer huh?  Looking around, though, there are many wonderful flowers. Here are a few for this week&#8217;s #SixOnSaturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although crocosmia has taken a hammering in the wind, and flattened some plants next to it, it has to be loved for it&#8217;s vibrant joyful colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2792\" height=\"2331\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/crocosmia.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2812\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A wonderful cluster of tiny blooms on the verbena bonariensis, which sways wonderfully in even the harshest gale!. Well worth a close look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2489\" height=\"1812\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/verbena.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2815\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>My dahlias are now becoming a regular feature on this blog.  I love the way the bright orange-red seamlessly fades into yellow in this perfect bloom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2528\" height=\"2350\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/dahlia-red-yello.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2813\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Somehow a perennial sweetpea (native maybe?) has found its way into the garden. Gorgeous, and easy to manage, but sadly no scent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2955\" height=\"2226\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/sweetpea.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2814\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another dahlia. I don&#8217;t grow many cactus, because the feeding insects can&#8217;t benefit, but one has to have a few, they are perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2704\" height=\"2335\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/dahlia-pink.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2816\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Last this week, I&#8217;ve been waiting a long time for the most stunning lily to flower. here she is. This one does need a sheltered spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2871\" height=\"2251\" src=\"https:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/lily.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2817\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>hanks for reading this week&#8217;s slightly grumpy six.
