Here are some of the amazing shapes made by plants in my garden for #SixOnSaturday <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green lushness of a perfect host (not yet attacked by slugs or snails, thank you to garden thrushes). What a wonderful plant to walk by, this once loves living on the edge of the pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3332\" height=\"2749\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/hosta.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3273\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A very odd plant, but one with so much interest in leaves and stem, is euphorbia. The colours and complexities here, when one looks close, is fabulous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3270\" height=\"2468\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/euphorbia.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3271\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to some leafiness: ferns have been slow to develop in this year&#8217;s cold spring, but slowly they unfurl. This is my favourite time to view them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2685\" height=\"2492\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fern.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3272\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The bluebells are doing their final mass show of the year before they seed everywhere and I race to dispose of the seeds before they take over completely. They do have such wonderful colour in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2579\" height=\"1734\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/bluebell-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3269\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Also a wonderful woodland plant, cow parsley featured on Gardener&#8217;s World a week or too back, now it&#8217;s popping up of its own accord as spring progresses in eastern Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2402\" height=\"2088\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cow-parsley.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3270\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And last, always coming into full flower at the end of May, and this time showing off in the evening light, next to the westerly view (with just a peak at the ripe rapeseed field beyond. WOW, my most spectacular rhododendron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3564\" height=\"2677\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/rhody-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3274\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A wonderful mix of satisfying colour and form this week, hope you enjoyed it.
