Can&#8217;t be part of my six, as not from the garden, but I had to show this cep off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"3000\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/20260918_120137.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3444\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-467d507c-3ca7-4a30-be18-9be4f3fd8c98\">There are still warmish nights, so lots of veg to harvest from the garden, even courgettes, don&#8217;t remember them ever making it to mid-Sept before. Yet the seeds are setting, and the harvest is in. Here are some of mazing forms of fruit and seed in my garden this week for #SixOnSaturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b352f062-9b33-4966-8e7d-832205f7e2fe\">A harvest I need to make soon are seed fennel, if I remember to get to these before they fully turn brown and fall off, they can be put into jars and last all year as a seasoning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2516\" height=\"2193\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/fennel.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3446\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hypericum have flowered and fruited, here are the ripe black berries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2723\" height=\"2401\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/hypericum.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3447\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nigella are a cute little flower, but the seeds they deliver are really wonderful, smooth, yet spiky, they look engineered, not evolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2634\" height=\"1778\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/nigella.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3449\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cotoneaster add wonderful colour to the autumn, at least for a while. Blackbirds are feasting on them when they can dash into the courtyard when I&#8217;m not looking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1873\" height=\"1915\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/cotoneaster.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3445\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wild carrot also provides an interesting seed head. Lots of tiny seeds, all clustering up into a cup shape, where the flower once floated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2182\" height=\"2024\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/wild-carrot.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3450\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Last this week is a close-up of the seeds from a simple marigold, what wonderful detail and form, like jaws closing around a tiny mouth. These will soon be harvested to save towards a new crop of colour for the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1898\" height=\"1715\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/marigold.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3448\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope you enjoyed my foray into seeds, the flowers will probably come back next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do join in with your own 6 things from a garden.
