I thought I would share some of that colour with you for #SixOnSaturday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amalancia is first this week.  A lovely large shrub that I like to look at about 10 months of year, including this one&#8230;.small leaves, but a wash of interesting green-to-red is going on here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1875\" height=\"1769\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/amalanchia.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3478\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, before the frosts come, ferns are still standing tall.   And this one is covered in tiny spores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2587\" height=\"2220\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/fern.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3481\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Continus sometimes looses its leaves before the colour shines out&#8230;.this year there is a wonderful display.  I&#8217;ve picked some of the branches for an indoor vase too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2894\" height=\"2619\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/cotinus.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>More seed heads now, this time larger, making the leaves of the spirea sparkle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2385\" height=\"2020\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/seeds-spirea.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3483\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Boston ivy will soon be scarlet, I like this phase, where each leaf has a full range of colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3213\" height=\"2185\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/boston.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3479\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Last up this week, this fig tree sits against a south facing wall and gave us probably the best crop we have ever had.  Now it will hold its leaves until the plant is touched by frost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2850\" height=\"1970\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/fig.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3482\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There we are, full on autumn without storms gives really wonderful colour in Scotland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do join in with your own 6 things from a garden.
