Here&#8217;s a load of yellow for #SixOnSaturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The summer has been as hot and dry as we&#8217;ve ever had here in eastern Scotland.  Most things in my south-facing border by the south-facing house wall has shrivelled, not so the Fremontodendron &#8212; it is flowering away like crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2070\" height=\"1916\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/fremontodendron.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3490\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Around the garden, there is wonderful colour in shrubs and trees.  One of the fruit bushes I have is a Saskatoonberry. I&#8217;ve tasted a bit &#8216;early&#8217; and they are not very exiting, but I&#8217;ve never got to a ripe fruit, the blackbirds get there first.  The yellow of the leaves is pretty stunning right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3060\" height=\"2001\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/saskatoon.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3494\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A firm favourite with a few straggler bees still foraging, the yellow-pom-pom type of buddleja keeps on flowering too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1764\" height=\"1326\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/budlija.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3489\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A hydrangea that claws it&#8217;s way up the garage wall is pretty much a wall full of yellow this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2642\" height=\"1908\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/hydrangea.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3491\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Elsewhere, edible quince have a few fruit left, this small tree fruited well this year, perhaps enjoying a long warm spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3158\" height=\"2551\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/quince.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3493\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Last this week, I&#8217;ve let a few self-seeding nasturtium take over the strawberry bed for the autumn. They are loving it, they always feel a little Halloweeny&#8230;..that not quite yet!  Here&#8217;s one of the yellowest flowers to round things off for the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"3017\" height=\"2456\" src=\"http:\/\/balmerino.ddns.net\/geekygarden\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/nasturtium.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3492\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Do join in with your own 6 things from a garden.
