The Troutdale Pinnacle, Borrowdale in
the English Lake District, is one of the most famous of the ‘easier’ rock
climbs in the UK. First ascent by Fred Botterill in
1903, this climb is still one of the most popular climbs for its varied
nature, requiring a good head for heights on its 360ft (~110m) 6-pitch
adventure. This image, photographed in June 1990, is of George Guthrie Gibson
on the crux (hardest) move. George is a non-climber performing a sponsored
rock climb. |
