Six on Saturday 7-11-26

The gloom of November has finally arrived, we’ve been launched into lots of driech grey days, sometime hard to find joy in the garden. After storms late in October, it is calm and quiet now. I’ve managed to find a few offerings for this week’s #SixOnSaturday. It’s getting harder to find the motivation, but here you go.

I did find something bright and beautiful, and also edible. Here is a radicchio, I need to get cooking with these before they rot in the damp air.

Trees have been holding their leaves well into this autumn, despite the winds. Catkins are coming on the hazel tree, even before this season’s leaves have fallen.

For a splash of green in these dark and dreary days, nasturtium are still going strong, they will grow and flower until the frosts finally get them.

The garden pond reflects some of the leaves left above whilst also carrying those that have fallen already.

As I managed last year, with a fairly clear greenhouse, there has been enough sun to ripen up a few late chillies. These are lemon-drop, nice and hot yet with a lovely citrus flavour, and they give a bright feel to any dish.

Last this week is a recent sunset, showing off those lovely autumn colours on some of our trees. It’s not aways driech and dreer here.

Do join in with your own 6 things from a garden. Thanks to those leaving comments on the blog. I do read them all, keep them coming. And do join in with #SixOnSaturday. All you need to do is find 6 things in your garden to show us. Then post on social, or add a link at Jim’s blog below. For regulars, our organiser is Jim at https://gardenruminations.co.uk/. And I’m on mastodon @julie3dharris@mastodon.scot
